Currently in our home:
Max is switching from two naps a day to only one nap a day. He was off to an amazing start and Max napped for almost 3 hours the first few days of our transition. This week he has had only one 1 hour nap and the days have been long and hard.
Max is also teething and has two new teeth coming in. There have been a lot of tears, drool, and boogers. We are simultaneously down to two nursing sessions a day and I am actually sad to see this special time go.
Calvin has been having some crazy dreams lately. He wakes up and with his big blue eyes tell me the most bizarre scenarios. He has always slept with a small aden + anais security blanket and a small kitty cat (and now he refuses both. He places the blanket and cat at the end of the bed and says he can't sleep with them because then he will "make believe." I am glad he is so imaginative, but it's crazy sometimes to hear about his trains, planes, and animal dreams.
With all of the beautiful, warm, sunny weather in San Diego (sorry East Coast friends, I feel for you), I have been able to workout outside everyday while the boys play. Most workouts include squats, lunges, jumping jacks, jump ropes, bridge-ups, and walks. I do what I can while making sure Max is not eating rocks or snails and watching Calvin as he does tricks on his bike.
Nick is busy juggling 3 jobs but thankfully gets off from work early enough to get home and get a quick workout in before helping me with the boys.
I am reading Bread and Wine by Shauna Niequist and I LOVE it. The only downside so far is that some of her theology is a little off and she officiates weddings. But other than that, I am loving her passion for fellowship around the table and all the recipes she shares. I plan to do a blog post review on it very soon.
We are prepping for a busy month ahead filled with a trip to Disneyland with my sister-in-laws, a Super Bowl Party, a trip to the police department, Calvin starting private swim lessons, my mom's birthday, a Valentine's Day party at our house, and more. Just when I think that the chaos will die down a whole bunch of events come up, but we love it all the same.
Both my sisters are making me so proud. My baby sister Bianca is doing awesome at her first post-college job. She is one of top consultants in her department, got to go to Vegas for a week-long work event, and has made a lot of commission in a short amount of time. My middle sister Michelle is in her last semester of nursing school while working the night shift at Sharp Memorial Hospital, is in an externship, and still helps me with my boys.
Lastly, my current favorite food and beverage choices have been canned green chilies from Trader Joe's, Zen tea, Tuff Stuff jerky (all day everyday), Cadburry Mini Eggs, kiwis, banana peppers and pineapple. No, I am not pregnant.
What is currently going on with you and your family? Can you believe we are already a month into 2016?
