We had another beautiful Christmas here in San Diego. The weather was actually quite chilly and it made it feel that much more like Christmas. This was Calvin's first Christmas where he actually knew what was going on and was built up with excitement. We hosted both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at our house which made it so much easier on us with the two boys. Christmas Eve was all appetizers (antipasto salad, stuffed shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, olives, cheese, sopresatta) and of course good drink and dessert. Christmas Day we had mimosasa and cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then Thanksgiving lunch round 2 (my mom wanted it all over again) and then for dinner we had my mom's famous lasagna. By evening time on Christmas we were pretty stuffed and took a nice walk to prepare for dessert.
Calvin and Max loved Christmas morning. Calvin was super sweet and woke all of us saying "Good morning, Merry Christmas everybody!". We opened stockings first and then went into the living room for presents. The boys were not into unwrapping presents after opening two gifts, they of course just wanted to play with their new toys. We are so thankful to be able to celebrate the birth of our Lord with our family and friend. Jesus is the only reasons we can rejoice.
This week we are off to Nick's side of the family. We fly out in a few days and will be back after New Year's. Hope you all have a safe and joyous week. Please let me know what you do for New Year's, I love hearing all your stories.
